Local Websites Children\'s Centres

 Family info Link can give you information about leisure activities and holiday play schemes in Stockport for you and the children you care for. Leisure activities can range from parent and toddler groups to local parks.

Summer Holiday Activities
A range of activities take place throughout Stockport over the summer months. These include Park events, play schemes, heritage, library and sports courses.

Guides and Brownies
Girlguiding Stockport offer girls and young women, fun and friendship working as a team or as an individual through varied activites. Start from Rainbows at 5 years, Brownies at 7, Guides at 10 and up to adult leaders and helpers. See

Libraries
There are 15 libraries in Stockport and a mobile library service. Visit any Stockport Library and ask to see the CISS database. This is also available online at www.stockport.gov.uk/cissThe CISS (Community Information Service Stockport) is a database providing information about local facilities, clubs and organisations in the Stockport area. There are many activities held at libraries such as 'Homework Matters' for 7-11 year olds and for younger ones, 'Baby Days', 'Bounce and Rhyme' 'Music and Movement' and 'Storytime'.

Scouts and Cubs
Greater Manchester East Scout Association is a voluntary youth organisation with sectional age ranges from beaver scouts at age 6, through to cubs at age 8, then scouts from age 10 up to adult supporting roles. See www.scouts.co.uk

Sports

Stockport Plaza
With easy access in the very centre of Stockport town centre, the Plaza Theatre and Cinema offers the very best of family entertainment. From classic films, to professional children's shows such as The Mr Men and Brum, from top comedians and bands to the north west's premier family pantomime. See
