- A website 'DirectGov' has been set up with useful information for parents and families. Topics covered include having a baby, childcare, your money, childrens health and many other family issues. Use this link for further details.
- The National Childbirth Trust has received funding from the Parenting Fund to establish the North West Reaching Out Network. The project aims to establish a network of organisations across the north west sharing best practice and resources so that together they can reach out to more parents. More information can be found on their website.
- The Government, education charity ContinYou and Kellogg's have launched a website giving advice on setting up breakfast clubs for children.
- Family Information Direct is a programme from the Department for Children, Schools and Families. It brings together a range of free services designed to serve eveyone in a parenting role - mothers, fathers, carers, and other adults with parental responsibility - by ensuring access to expert advice through existing telephone helplines or a new generation of services, delivered online and on mobile phones. Although these services all receive funding from the DCSF, they are delivered by third and privates sector organisations.
