Checking of individuals working with children
The Vetting and Barring Scheme is an approved system of vetting and checking individuals who work or volunteer with children and/or vulnerable adults.
All of those working with children and/or vulnerable adults must register with the scheme.
It is not necessary to register for informal or personal arrangements e.g. looking after a friend’s child for the day.
This does not replace CRB checks, which reveal if the person has a criminal record. For more information visit http://www.isa-gov.org.uk
